I have a set of Enkei rims on my other Supra and have thought about
moving them to my 87 Turbo. They are gold right now. I
am going to strip them and repaint them in Toyota Super Silver.

The Project. |
|
I had to apply the stripper twice to get all the gold off, but each
coat only took 15 minutes. Not too bad. I'm glad the
metal is a good silver color. It means I can spray to make the
outside of the wheel look good and not worry about any slight thin
spots between the spokes.

|
Difficulty. |
|
1- The chemical stripper does all the work so this isn't hard.
However, the chemical stripper is very caustic and the gloves and
other care needed to work with it make this not he easiest job.
Even as careful as I was, I ended up with a couple of chemical burns
on my arms.

None.

The
Payoff. |
|
The wheels do look good, but I have not put them on my car yet.
I haven't seen the point of paying to move the tires around as I
would rather spend the money on a set of 17's or 18's. I
wonder if anyone will take these in trade?
